People are "real" in the sense that it's not trendy and hollow like Santa Fe, mostly Retirees like Deming, or excessively violent and racist like Espanola or Las Vegas. Not to mention it being the most fit city in the country now, and within easy distance of serious outdoor activity.Albuquerque definitely has the rest beat hands down in terms of diversity, activities and numbers.
